Here we go again...

We're stalling on our progress. His earlier blood gas levels were so good they had to wean him and dial down the oscillator. Well, he didn't like the changes and they had to increase his oxygen again. That I am not so concerned about, I just don't want a repeat of 24 hours ago. They are trying hard to get him back to where he was before he seriously declines again. Every time we leave and come back I am scared to walk into his pod for fear of what has happened while we were gone. They are trying to minimize his fluids (meds) to keep it off his lungs. His latest lung x-ray wasn't as good as the one from this morning so they are trying to make him pee it off. His PDA is apparently rather large and is contributing to the fluid problem on his lungs. They need him to be stable and off the oscillator before they can attempt to fix the PDA. His head ultrasound results aren't back yet either, so we are waiting on those results as well. Cody and I have stayed at the hospital the last two nights since he has been so sick, but we are making ourselves go home here in a bit because we are so completely exhausted. I seriously think I could sleep for a whole day and still not feel rested.

The power of prayer is amazing and you have seen that. Try your best, if you can to be as strong as you can. We love you Rhys, keep fighting... clear those lungs, baby! They need to close your PDA! This is an emotional roller coaster for you (and us looking in). However, you two are amazing, sweet, and loving parents. We are praying hard. Keep it up Rhys! Please, get some rest you need it in order to be strong for Rhys.
We love you,
Jason, Angie & Tatum

So I just called KSBJ and tried the DJ on Air number but no answer. So I called the prayer hotline and a volunteer prayed with me for ya'll and they are going to have a group prayer now. I'm going to try my dardest to get through on air so we can have a larger prayer chain going (not that it's not already super large). I love ya'll and I just love Baby Rhys. He's truly a miracle.

My name is Shane Peoples, I am a friend of Josh Meyers. I had a 26 week son named Joshua. He weighted
1lb. 8oz. He stayed in the hospital for three months. Joshua had to have surgery on his PDA because it would not close up on its own. Joshua also had r.o.p which also required surgery. I know what you are going through, I have been there. There are alot of ups and downs with premies, but with prayer God can help you through. He's (GOD) done it for us.

I had a former preemie at Texas Children's, who was on the oscillator for awhile. She suffered from a bilateral pulmonary hemorrhage(bleeding in both lungs). Don't be discourage of the x-rays, they said it was like a bruise healing- takes time. She also had the PDA done, which helped out tremendous, getting the access fluid off her lungs. I know what it feels like, shaken to walk thru those NICU doors, wondering what lies ahead. Will continue to pray for baby Rhys!

Candice - I was praying for your son yesterday morning and then I ran right into your mom (she was asking about my son in the lobby) he was having some testing done that morning at Hermann. My hope is that Kyle and Coy too can be your tangible hope of God right now. I remember the walk down the hall to the pod each day and the physical fear it brought to my heart and my stomach. My heart aches for what you are going through today. I am asking God for protection over your mind and body and healing for your son. I am praying constantly.

I came back down stairs to see you after kyle's tests but you guys were not there. Please email from my profile if there is ever ANYTHING we can do.
